Andrea Risk is a Partner in our Labour and Employment and Education and Health Law Groups. She provides assistance to employers and employees in both unionized and non-unionized environments, as well as to school boards and health care providers.
Andrea practised for several years with the Ottawa office of a major national law firm. She brings with her considerable expertise in the areas of:
- individual terminations
- labour arbitration
- collective bargaining
- human rights
- professional regulation and discipline
- professional negligence
- administrative law
- dispute resolution
Andrea is also a skilled litigator, having appeared both in court (judge alone and jury) and before administrative tribunals.
Graduating from Queen's University Faculty of Law in 1999, Andrea had the distinction of receiving numerous awards for outstanding achievement and for obtaining the highest standing in her class. She is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Advocate's Society and the Frontenac Law Association.
Andrea and her family are actively involved in the Kingston community. Andrea is a member of the Kingston Arts Council and Vice Chair of the Kingston Police Services Board.
